Reinhard Heydrich enlists in the German Navy. April 1931 Heydrich is forced to leave the Navy due to being disloyal and deceitful towards one of the officers in command. June 1931 Heydrich enlists in the Nazi party. August 1931 Heinrich Himmler recruits Heydrich for the Schutzstaffel (SS) and requires his help in developing the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) 1st April, 1933 Heinrich Himmler appoints Heydrich as his deputy of the Bavarian political police detective force. June 1934 Heydrich is appointed chief of the SD inside the Third Reich. July 1934 Heydrich is placed in command of the Gestapo. 26th June, 1936 Himmler appoints Heydrich as chief of Hauptamt Sicherheitspolizei (Security Police Main Office) 24th January, 1939 Hermann Göring appoints Heydrich with the role of developing a ‘solution to the Jewish Question’ in Germany. 1st September, 1939 Germany invades Poland, beginning World War II. 27th September, 1939 Heydrich is put in command of the SS-Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA). 22nd June, 1941 The Sovet Union is invaded by Nazi Germany and under orders placed by Heydrich, the German army begin to systematically kill Jews. September 1941 Adolf Hitler appoints Heydrich Acting Reich Protector for the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (Czech Republic). 20th January, 1942 Heydrich presents a final solution to the ‘Jewish Solution.’ 27th May, 1942 Czech parachute agents roll a hand grenade under Heydrich’s vehicle. The blast does not kill him instantly. 4th June, 1942 Heydrich dies as a result of infection, caused from the attempted assassination and hand grenade explosion. |
